Glossary

high-water mark The highest daily net asset value per note since its issue date.
price The bid price for the note.
return The pre-tax return to an investor who purchased the note on its issue date, assuming the reinvestment of any distributions in the note. For a note that is less than one year old, the simple rate of return is shown. For a note that is at least one year old, the compounded annual rate of return is shown.
benchmark GIC The GIC that was available for purchase on the issue date of the note, having the same original term to maturity as the note. Its total return is the pre-tax return to an investor who purchased the GIC on its issue date, assuming the reinvestment of any distributions in the GIC. For a GIC that is less than one year old, the simple rate of return is shown. For a GIC that is at least one year old, the compounded annual rate of return is shown.
weighting The percentage of the note's net asset value that is notionally invested in the fund portfolio.
observed The simple rates of return, observed at quarterly intervals during the term of the note, to an investor who invested in the fund portfolio on the issue date of the note, assuming the reinvestment of any distributions in the fund portfolio. Each simple rate of return is calculated from the issue date of the note to the relevant observation date.
average The average of all the simple returns observed to date.
to go The number of simple returns remaining to be observed during the term of the note. This number is expressed in terms of the total number of simple returns that have been, or remain to be, observed during the term of the note. For example, "10/24" means that the variable return on the note will be computed on the basis of an average of 24 simple returns, of which 10 remain to be observed.
