Group RRSP - A collection of individual RRSPs offered by the employer
allowing payroll deductions for employee contributions. Both employee
and employer may contribute to a Group RRSP.
Growth Fund - A mutual fund whose aim is to achieve capital appreciation
by investing in stocks likely to have superior growth potential.
Guaranteed Annuity - An annuity that will be paid to a person
for his or her lifetime, with a minimum number of guaranteed payments.
For instance, if the guaranteed period is five years and the annuitant
dies after three, the remaining two years of payments will be made to
the survivor or estate.
Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) - Provides additional money,
on top of Old Age Security pension to low income seniors living in Canada.
Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) - A deposit instrument
requiring a minimum investment at a predetermined rate of interest for
a fixed term. |
