MONTREAL - Provincial byelections will be held in three Quebec ridings today.

They mark the first time voters will have a chance to weigh in on Premier Jean Charest's minority government.

But the results are not expected to significantly alter the makeup of the provincial legislature.

Both Montreal ridings up for grabs are considered Parti Quebecois strongholds, while voters in Hull have long turned to the Liberals.

The Liberals currently hold 47 seats in Quebec's 125-seat legislature, compared with 41 for the Action democratique du Quebec and 34 for the PQ.
